Valorisation
Valorisation: the commercialisation of intellectual property at Universities and R&D centres

Westfield provides intellectual property valorisation service (often called technology transfer) at Universities and R&D Institutes. Valorisation is a process that gives a value to an (intangible) asset such as intellectual property and then increases that value. In other words, it creates extra business value by commercialising a company’s intellectual property.

The strength of Westfield is that we have the ability to manage, transfer and exploit an organisation’s intellectual property in such a way that it increases investors’ value. We achieve this through patenting, licensing and creating spin-off companies. We also handle the whole valorisation process, from finding suitable intellectual property to commercialise to identifying and establishing appropriate commercial partnerships.

Westfield’s extensive expertise and knowledge means we have an excellent track record in valorisation.  We consistently deliver outstanding results for our clients. In the period 2008/2009, we were involved in creating more than 20 spin-offs and deals with third parties and investors.

Our main clients are Dutch research institutions and universities in the clean-tech, bio-tech, IT, aerospace, energy, telecom and industrial design sectors.

If you are involved in a new venture that has intellectual property, then please contact us to see how we can help you can commercialise this valuable asset.
